Jeremiah Johns
AttorneyJeremiah Johns is a former insurance defense attorney who now represents plaintiffs in bad faith insurance, catastrophic injury cases, and commercial disputes. As a plaintiff lawyer, Jeremiah has represented hundreds of policyholders in property damage, life insurance, business interruption, long-term disability, health, and commercial coverage cases. Jeremiah’s experience representing some of the nation’s largest insurance companies provides a unique perspective on what it takes to favorably resolve a case for his clients.
Jeremiah’s keen understanding of how the insurance code favors policyholders has allowed him to obtain favorable outcomes for clients following catastrophic events including Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Harvey, the Baton Rouge Floods, Hurricane Michael, and numerous other events. Jeremiah understands that insurance plays an integral role when disaster strikes and that all too often insurers underpay and delay valid claims making the rebuilding process that much harder.
Jeremiah also represents clients in catastrophic injury cases including wrongful death, industrial injuries, maritime injuries, and serious automobile collisions. Jeremiah’s past experience defending injury cases provides a unique understanding of how insurance companies value claims. In short, the person or company who caused your injury often is not calling the shots. Their insurance company is. Jeremiah’s approach in injury cases is centered on putting pressure on the insurance company to settle or face potential exposure for acting in bad faith.
Clients often reach out to Jeremiah when faced with tough insurance coverage issues. Many of Jeremiah’s clients made their claim believing their insurance company had their best interest at heart only to learn that their insurer viewed them as a liability. Through diligence and experience, Jeremiah has represented clients to positive outcomes in cases involving examination under oath, interpleader claims, special investigations, and even criminal investigations initiated by their insurance company.
Jeremiah is often called upon to handle commercial disputes. Many of these cases involve claims against insurance agents, brokers, banks, and insurance companies for delayed payment. He has also guided construction companies, public adjusters, and others through a variety of breach of contract, property damage, and unfair trade practice cases.
In his spare time, Jeremiah enjoys spending time with his wife, Alma, and daughters, Lucia and Lillian. As a lifelong musician, Jeremiah can often be found picking at one of his guitars.
